I never really was that into Nine Inch Nails, believe it or not. The musical touchstone here is actually Celldweller. As for why all of this hangs together so well, I have no idea. It almost didn't work at all. I remember thinking that this song was a huge mess until I somehow cajoled it into place.
lyrics
I was in the wilderness
not taking care of myself
no, I am not taking messages
I have built a machine that built a machine
that pulls the cowardice
straight from your mouth
and if what is true is out here
it was never found
by inexperienced hands digging in the ground
I was in the wilderness
not taking care of myself
no, I am not checking messages
Nothing much is out there
I was in the wilderness
not taking care of myself
you can die from exposure, you know?
I have built a machine that built a machine
that pulls the callouses straight from your hands
and if they there were there from digging
for some bitter truth, well ain’t that too bad?
I was in the wilderness
not taking care of myself
no, I am not checking messages
TTBT has some of my favorite songs written by The Mechs. Iphis is my personal favorite due to its ties with Greek Mythology, but it's definitely an album I have on repeat constantly. yumeinati
Love the edgy-grungy sound to this album. Every song is a banger and has an emotional depth to it - it was hard choosing between Getting Wise, Falling Up The Stairs and Пожалуйста for a favorite track but Falling Up eventually won out felixcosm
