From episode 23 of WOE.BEGONE, "I Have Been To The Future."
I wanted to use "GUIDE DOG" in the actual show and I think that this extended version keeps the oddity while improving it in every way.
There's this picture of a guide dog from the 1950s that I'm obsessed with. Guide dogs were a new thing back then and I think about how those dogs were trained to and gladly performed such important roles for their owners and how all of those dogs and most of those people are dead now. I think that any time travel show has to wrestle with the memento mori of it all eventually.
Listening back this time, I noticed that you can hear my cat's water fountain at the end. She passed away in February and I cherish all of the moments that she shows up in my recordings.
lyrics
I have been to the future
And I don't wanna scare you
But not only were you not there,
They never even knew you,
They didn't know me either,
I don't think I want them to,
It's fine, it's fine, it's fine,
It's fine, it's fine, it's fine.
They printed all of the good news
But I can't break it to you,
Because not only are the words smudged,
They never could include you,
They can't include me either,
I don't think I want them to,
It's fine, it's fine, it's fine,
It's fine, it's fine, it's fine.
But I have been a GUIDE DOG
For 75 years now,
And not only am I tired,
I could never lead you,
I couldn't lead me either,
You shouldn't expect me to,
It's fine, it's fine, it's fine,
It's fine, it's fine, it's fine.
TTBT has some of my favorite songs written by The Mechs. Iphis is my personal favorite due to its ties with Greek Mythology, but it's definitely an album I have on repeat constantly. yumeinati
Nearly a decade late to the Taz party, but I’m so glad to be aware of it now! I don’t know what elixir Griffin put into the album but I would like to drink a gallon of it. katiegreene137
